Amazing space but, unfortunately with all us tourists milling around, the religious significance is slightly lost so the overall feeling you experience in the Blue Mosque is less than what it should be. (Unless you are good at blocking out everyone around you!)
After visiting the Blue Mosque we made our way across the Hippodrome to the Turkish and Islamic Art Museum in the Ibrahim Pasha Palace. What an amazing place! Such a lovely courtyard and gorgeous carpets that, even though they are centuries old, still retain their brilliant colour. Really a worthwhile visit.
