Current Fabric Design Ideas
Below are images of the fabric designs I am currently working on.
Manet & Spanish influenced Cushion
While in Paris earlier this year, I purchased some lovely silk scarves. One of the scarves is based on Manet's painting of Lola, the Spanish dancer. The scarf design is based upon the vibrant citrus colours with a black background of Lola's dress. For this cushion I combined an orange dupion silk fabric with the fabric from the silk scarf, to create a vibrant and colourful, cushion that brings a bit of Spain to the home interior.
Baby Blanket and Reconditioned Garden Chair
The Baby Blanket below is handmade, and the fabrics are taken from my collection of Designer Guild fabrics, which I purchased while in London earlier this year, in June 2012. In the photos below the Baby Blanket is displayed upon an old garden chair that I sanded back, repainted and decoupaged. These are also available to order, but they are a work in progress! All the chairs are decoupaged with sections of street maps. The chair below has a Paris street map, and there are 4 chairs in total. Two are Parisian, two are Roman. Currently the chair in the photo is finished and ready to go.
